September 17, 2026: TPSC Webinar: Understanding the Impact of Vehicle Design on Pedestrian Safety

September 17, 2026 | 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.

The recent webinar focused on the critical role that vehicle design plays in pedestrian safety. The presentation highlighted research findings on how the front-end design of vehicles can influence the severity of pedestrian injuries in the event of a crash. It also examined evidence connecting driver visibility, particularly during turning maneuvers, to the likelihood of pedestrian collisions. The discussion provided insights into how specific vehicle features may impact both the occurrence and the outcomes of pedestrian-involved crashes, with an emphasis on design elements that could be targeted to improve safety for pedestrians.

This meeting was held virtually on Microsoft Teams.
