10:00 – 10:05: Welcome

  • Mike says his intro

10:05 – 10:10: Update on 2019 Statewide Pedestrian Safety Forum

  • Mike can handle. Talking points:
  • Forum is August 22, 2019 from 8 to 4 at Norris Center in Austin
  • Registration is open. Please register so we can start to get an accurate head
    count
  • Full agenda will be sent out in the next month
  • Sessions that are currently being put together for this year’s forum include
    • Media and pedestrian safety
    • Pedestrian safety enforcement education
    • Equity, social justice and pedestrian safety
    • Engineering countermeasures and urban design’s impact on ped safety
    • Case studies on how cities are using data to improve pedestrian safety
    • Pedestrian safety and transportation policy
    • Intersection of public health and pedestrian safety
    • Planning for pedestrian safety at the state, regional and local level
  • If you are interested in presenting, please reach out to Ben Ettelman, as there
    are still a couple open spots.

  • We have a couple folks who have volunteered to provide updates. We should call them
    and then open the floor for others
