About the Tour

Join local nonprofit Safe Streets Austin for a walking tour of Austin’s Mueller neighborhood! Texas Pedestrian Safety Forum attendees are invited to join this free event hosted by Safe Streets Austin. The tour will explore parts of Mueller, Austin’s former airport site redeveloped into a mixed-use walkable neighborhood, focusing on pedestrian safe design and infrastructure.

Getting There & Parking

We will meet at the “Nessy” sculpture in central Mueller, 1829 Simond Ave. Free parking is available in the surface parking lot on Simond Ave across from the AMLI. Paid parking is available on the street and in the public parking garage at 1826 McBee St. Aviator Pizza will validate parking for 90 minutes in the McBee St garage.

Bicycle parking and public restrooms are both available next to the “Nessy” sculpture. CapMetro buses #10 and #837 run between the AT&T Center and Mueller neighborhood, and fare can be paid using tap to pay. The Transit app gives up-to-date bus information and is downloadable for free.

Please arrive at “Nessy” a few minutes before 4:00 PM.
